The psychoanalytic understanding of crime provides valuable insights into offending, which in turn can be of value in the context of legal process. In this one day seminar "Crime in Mind and in Action; A Dialogue between Psychoanalysis and the Law" we invite you to join nationally and internationally renowned speakers in discussion and exploration of important concepts existing at this interface.

Speakers include: Dr Estela Welldon (Founder and Honorary Elected President for Life of the International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy, Hon Consultant Psychotherapist Portman Clinic, London, UK), Prof Giuseppe Speciale (Professor of History of Law, University of Catania), Prof. Tommaso Rafaraci (Professor of Penal Procedure, University of Catania), Peter Aylward (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Broadmoor High Secure Hospital, West London Mental Health Trust), and Dr Francesco Spadaro (Psychiatrist of the Department of Mental Health of Catania, and Full Member of the Italian Society of Psychonalytic Psychotherapy).

This is one-day seminar of a joint collaboration between the International Association of Forensic Psychotherapy, the Italian Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (SIPP, Società Italiana Psicoterapia Psicoanalitica) and the Dipartimento Seminario Giuridico, University of Catania, Italy. This interdisciplinary workshop is intended for practitioners and students across these fields. The dialogue will occur in both Italian and English with transcripts and/or continuous translation available in both languages.

A gala dinner will be held on Saturday 25th May in the evening.
